Ohana Q BBQ in Kona
One block up from Ali’i Drive on Kuakini Highway is Kona’s best kept, affordable BBQ secret: Ohana Q. The modest, casual BBQ joint is good for takeout (on the Toast app), or eating outside the restaurant at a picnic table. I highly recommend any Texas BBQ entree or the fish tacos.

For to-die-for, fresh, no frills poke, head over to Pau Hana Poke in Kailua Kona. Boasting an average Yelp review of 5 stars, this place doesn’t mess around and offers some of the best fish on the island. I personally chose to indulge in the shoyu poke with the seaweed salad and imitation crab. Delicious.
