Foster’s Kitchen

Foster's Kitchen is a Kailua-Kona favorite, offering fresh, locally sourced dishes, handcrafted cocktails, and stunning ocean views in a relaxed, open-air setting.

If you’re staying at our Kailua Village condo and seeking a dining experience that emphasizes fresh, locally sourced ingredients, Foster’s Kitchen is a must-visit. Located conveniently on Ali‘i Drive, it’s just a short walk from the condo, making it an ideal spot for lunch or dinner.

Foster’s Kitchen prides itself on a farm-to-table approach, ensuring that each dish is crafted with the freshest ingredients Hawaii has to offer. The menu is diverse, catering to a variety of palates, with options ranging from fresh seafood to hearty burgers. One standout dish is the macadamia nut pesto pasta, which combines local flavors into a delightful and satisfying meal.

The open-air, second-story location provides diners with stunning ocean views, enhancing the overall dining experience. The ambiance is casual yet refined, making it suitable for both a relaxed meal and a special occasion.

For those interested in cocktails, Foster’s Kitchen offers a selection of handcrafted drinks made with fresh, local ingredients.

You’ll find two standout versions of the Mai Tai, each offering its own unique take on this iconic cocktail. The Traditional Mai Tai is a crowd favorite, crafted with a blend of light and dark rums, orange curaçao, orgeat syrup, and fresh pineapple and orange juices. It’s a vibrant, fruity drink with a perfect balance of sweetness and tropical flair—just what you’d expect from a classic Hawaiian Mai Tai. On the other hand, the 1944 Mai Tai stays true to the original recipe created by Victor J. “Trader Vic” Bergeron. This version features a more refined flavor profile with aged rum, lime juice, orange curaçao, and orgeat syrup, omitting the added juices for a cleaner, more rum-forward cocktail. The 1944 Mai Tai is garnished simply with a lime wheel and mint sprig, letting the quality of the ingredients shine.

Service at Foster’s Kitchen is attentive and friendly, with staff knowledgeable about the menu and eager to accommodate dietary preferences or provide recommendations.

Given its popularity, especially during peak dining hours, it’s advisable to make a reservation to ensure a timely seating. Whether you’re a foodie looking to explore local Hawaiian cuisine or simply seeking a pleasant dining experience with a view, Foster’s Kitchen delivers on all fronts.
