Before

There’s no doubt in either of our minds: The kitchen, in all its royal blue formica glory, has got to go.

Given the size of our condo, we decide a “kitchenette” vibe is what we’re seeking. This means small appliances. After browsing the options at Home Depot, we settle on some sleek, urban options made by Haier.

We work with Casey at HPM to produce a beautiful rendering of our desired design.

While we’re waiting for cabinets and counters, the Goldilocks-sized Haier appliances are shipped from Home Depot.

For the full kitchen job (electric, plumbing, cabinets, counters, and backsplash), Casey at HPM is kind enough to refer us to Ed, a fellow New Yorker who’s up for the job.

In the meantime, I decide the area previously designated as the cloffice is too dark and depressing for 5am Zooms, so move my workspace (including my new Dell monitor) into the main area. I top off the design with a pop of sea foam green.
